  After reading many positive reviews, we scheduled an estimate with Miracle Method of Fairfax to refinish our bathtub/shower tiles. The owner, Brent, was very friendly and quick to schedule the free in home estimate and begin the work. He explained that since our tub had already been refinished once, there would be an additional charge to strip it off. We agreed upon the set price. The work was finished after two days, but they needed to come back to 'buff' the shower. It was at that time I received an email from Brent casually letting me know that the additional time spent would result in "a little extra charge". The "little extra charge" was close to $700! Had the original price included that cost, we would not have agreed on the price and would have gone with a different company, or replaced the tub and tiles for a similar price. He offered to spit it with us, however, we did not agree to split it either. While I understand the stripping took longer than anticipated, this is not something we should be responsible for. The proposal was generated based on the in person assessment, and to try to add a nearly 20% increase to that just before completion was unacceptable. Brent's response to our concern was "sorry you feel that way." It's not a feeling when you have a quote in writing to complete the project at a fixed price with no mention of additional fees or hourly rates. The work was well done and the bath/shower turned out great. The technician's were friendly and hard working. However, we were blindsided by the price increase and the interaction turned our positive experience into a very negative one.
